How to organize your makeup: step by step and tips to help you
PHOTO: REPRODUCTION / BUJI DECORATION REUSE
Anyone who likes makeup knows that having a proper corner for it is essential. But, not only that, it also needs to be well organized, especially due to the variety of products and accessories available, such as brushes, sponges, lipsticks, etc. Therefore, everything needs to be in its proper place to facilitate day-to-day use.
In addition, cosmetics require specific care to last longer. According to personal organizer Sane Lima, the conservation of makeup is essential, especially for the health of the skin. Therefore, organization is also needed to prevent products from spoiling faster than normal.
How to organize your makeup (step by step)
To keep your makeup well organized, follow the step by step indicated by the professional:
Step 1: Screen what you have
“First of all, it is necessary to do a screening to see if there are any items that are out of date and unfeasible for use. It is essential to discard makeup that has expired”, says Sane.
The professional also recommends discarding spare items that you know you will no longer use and that can be used by someone else.
Step 2: Make everything very clean
For brushes, you can use mild soap and water and remember to let them dry. “For foundation, eye shadow, lipstick, blush and eyeliner, always use a tissue, wherever there is accumulation of the product and that’s it. Mascara, gloss and the applicator of liquid concealer, if they are too much, remove with a tissue and let the applicator soak a little in warm water with neutral soap. Then wash it under running water and let it dry”.
Step 3: Sort products and accessories by category
Sane explains that categorization can be done by segment or even according to usage routine. By segment you can do as follows: on one side, put everything that has to do with the skin, such as concealers, powders, blushes and foundations. On the other hand, eye makeup such as pencil, eye shadow, eyeliner and mascara. In the third sector, leave mouth pencils, lip balm, lip gloss and lipstick.
However, if you prefer to organize according to your routine of use, separate the types of makeup for each occasion: day-to-day, work, parties, etc.
Step 4: Store in appropriate places
The personal organizer suggests using the organizer boxes, preferably the transparent ones, as they are practical and allow for better visualization. For those who store products in drawers, the tip is to use dividers to keep everything separate and organized. Another very useful tip is to label boxes or jars to identify each category or item.
